Homeland Security: Bringing Dr. King Up To Date
Directed and Choreographed by Desmond Richardson
Featuring youth from the All Stars
March 9 - April 4, 2007
One of the greatest Americans of all time, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is addressed in Homeland Security: Bringing Dr. King Up to Date, running from March 9 through April 4. Directed and choreographed by one of the greatest American dancers of our time, Desmond Richardson, this experimental work featuring young performers from the All Stars, will introduce Dr. King to post-9/11 America. Mixing dance, music, text, photography, and video, Homeland Security questions our assumptions about the nature of a "homeland" and asks what security means in the lives of our young people today.
